Paper and other packaging waste is a significant problem in Nigeria, contributing to a broader national issue of ineffective waste management. The issue is especially prominent in urban areas due to rapid population growth and low rates of recycling. Littered solid waste clogs drainage systems, which is a major contributing factor to urban flooding in cities like Ibadan.
At EcoCube, we asked a simple question. Instead of posing a problem, what if waste could be worth something? That question became our mission.
